Race For the Cure With Us!

This weekend on Saturday, Chesapeake Homes will be running like the wind in the annual Race for the Cure®.  We have been a major supporter of the Susan G. Komen Tidewater Affiliate for years, and always plan to be.  Make sure to keep an eye out for our team, Chest-A-Peake Homes, we will be walking, jogging and running to raise awareness for breast cancer. 

Our area has a higher instance rate of breast cancer, and the local affiliate awards grants that help keep a large percentage of the funds raised here in our area, where the people who need help, can get it.  Come out to the race and receive a free Komen tote bag from us!  You will also have the chance to register for a $100 Visa gift card to spend on whatever your heart desires.

To make this year’s race even more fun, there will be a special theme… tutus! From little girls to dads, all participants will be showing off their tutus while they run.  Join us this weekend in making this year’s race awesome, and run for all of the people affected by breast cancer!

It’s Not Too Late to Tee Off!

A little rain never hurt anyone, right?  If you had not signed up in time for the Chesapeake Homes Golf Tournament, consider this your lucky day.  The tournament has been extended to October 21^st, 2014 due to weather conditions.  This means that you still have time to support our local Susan G Komen affiliate! 

One of Chesapeake Homes’ biggest fundraising events, this Tee Off Tournament will support research to finally defeat breast cancer.  We invite you and your friends to participate in our charity golf tournament.  Whether you are a scratch golf player or just want to play for fun, come out and show us what you’ve got. 

You do not necessarily have to be a player to participate in this tournament either.  Become an official sponsor by donating a raffle prize, silent auction item or just a donation to Susan G. Komen Tidewater.

Komen Tidewater Affiliate is hosting its annual Race for the Cure® on Saturday, October 11th at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.  Race® is more than a regular fundraiser...  It’s a fun fundraiser!  You won’t want to miss out on this chance to support Komen and help raise awareness for breast cancer in our area.  Register today to participate in Race® at komentidewater.org – you still have time!

This year’s Race® will have a twist, wear a costume on race day and make it a tutu!  Everyone will be wearing one to look their absolute best and feel like ballerinas while they run – men, women, kids... even pets!  Plus, who doesn’t want to see their friends, brothers and husbands in a tutu? Susan G. Komen Event Scheduled For Virginia Beach Cornerstone Community

It’s time once again for what is becoming an annual tradition with Chesapeake Homes and Susan G. Komen’s Tidewater affiliate – the High Heels for the Cure, a one mile walk around the Cornerstone community... with a twist! Hopefully that twist is not an ankle, as we are inviting men (women and kids too) to don ladies high heels and trek around the community to raise awareness for breast cancer.  In addition to the “race,” we’ll have booths of fun activities for participants of all ages.  Face painting, foot massages, Komen merchandise for sale, Komen Race for the Cure® race registration, refreshments and even a giveaway of a shoe wardrobe gift certificate for one lucky participant!  Our models will be open too, so participants can stop in an relax while touring our beautiful new floor plans! 

High Heels for the Cure takes place on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. We’ve got a few local celebs coming out too, including Movin’ 107.7’s Morning Maniac Kevin Kennedy who has committed to walk the course in his listener selected special stiletto heels!  Come join the fun, and help us raise awareness for breast cancer!

  Directions to the Cornerstone community:  take I-264 exit 17A/South Independence/Princess Anne Road. And immediately bear right onto Baxter Road exit to the right.  At stop sign, take right onto Alicia Drive.  Make left onto Dolton Drive.  Enter in the second entrance on your right at the Cornerstone community monument.  Drive straight back into community until you see event on left – attendants will direct you to parking.
